Please Help Me Organize My Students!

Help me give my students and myself organization and convenience! These sets of drawers will serve as the anchors for my groups of 4 desks.

My Students

I teach students from 9th to 12th grade in a public high school. The students in our school come from a mix of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

My kids are wonderful - helpful, kind, funny and always respectful.

Many of them have been raised in blue collar families and have old-fashioned values. They are usually happy to be in math class, and we have a good time every day!

We have very cohesive, family-like classes based on mutual respect and a whole lot of corny jokes and puns.

My Project

My students always work in groups of 3 or 4. Innumerable studies have shown that this is how high school students learn best, especially in math class. These towers will serve as the anchor to my groups, and hold the items that are essential for my students every day. No more searching around the room for supplies!

Here's what I plan to put in them:

Top drawer – Cell Phones. Every day in my class is a "no cell phone" day. Learning math works best without distractions. The expectation will be that students put their phones in the drawers at the beginning of class. They will feel more secure knowing they are not going to be messed with by me or other kids.

Second drawer – Personal whiteboards and Expo Markers. We use these every day for the warm-up!

Third drawer – Supplies (loaner pencils, markers, crayons, rulers, glue sticks, scissors, etc.) - I hate having to remember to get these out on the days they are needed. Now they'll be always available!

Fourth drawer – Kleenex box

I can't wait to receive these amazing drawer towers! Thank you in advance!
