My students come from all different backgrounds, which makes for a fantastic learning family.
We are a bilingual, Title I school in a suburban-like area. Our school is 75% free/reduced-price lunch. As a school, we strive to build relationships with parents and community members. These relationships provide us with much-needed classroom volunteers and occasional resources. Our ultimate goal is to educate each student to achieve personal excellence.
My Project
Quite often students want to read what their classmates are reading. Unfortunately, those books can be too difficult for them at that moment. With Kindles in our classroom, I will be able to offer students an audiobook so they can read the popular books, too.
My goal is to provide my students with an equal opportunity to discover the love reading.
Audiobooks offer students the opportunity to listen to a fluent reader, learn vocabulary, and discuss the story with their peers. The Kindles and earbuds will allow me to quickly get a new book title into a student's hands. The protective covers will ensure the Kindles last for my future fourth-graders.
