My students are an amazing bunch of enthusiastic learners. I teach at a school where 49% of my students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch. Approximately 1/4 of my class are English language learners. My school is an amazing place where both teachers and students love to come to school to teach and learn every day. My students are very bright and inquisitive and they LOVE to learn.
My students are very creative.
They learn through inquiry and hands-on activities. They are always looking for creative and fun ways to learn.
Do you remember painting? Every kindergarten class should have plenty of paint and art supplies to foster this love of creating. Currently, my classroom is low on these very key kindergarten classroom items.
My students need washable tempera paint, watercolor paint, paper to paint on and art smocks to protect their clothing.
I will use these art supplies to blend science and writing with art. For example- they will be making books about the weather with these supplies as well as painting the cover of their books that they write! This always makes engagement go up and makes the learning more meaningful and thus more memorable.
