Please Donate The Gift of Time to Terrific Third Graders

My students need 25 subscriptions to "Time For Kids" Magazine.

My Students

Kids who struggle with literacy often find reading books boring. Bright colorful magazines such as TIME for Kids, are instant attention grabbers and make even reluctant readers curious enough to take a look.

My students are a terrific group of third graders who struggle with literacy.

Our school is located in a high poverty district and most of my students can't afford to buy a magazine subscription. My budget for supplies is very small and as of right now FROZEN.

My Project

TIME magazine is bright and colorful. The covers grab students' attention and encourage opening the magazine to explore. The hardest part of getting reluctant readers reading is getting them to open a book. TIME offers articles that are interesting to kids and is written at their reading level. Kids want to know what goes with the pictures and read the articles. Comprehension, nonfiction reading and questioning skills are easily taught because the interest level is high. Kids look forward to these weekly magazines and I would love to give them to my students to read at school and then share them with parents at home (double the learning opportunities).

Your donation of "TIME for Kids" would go a long way by helping me instill a love of reading in all my students.

Please don't let frozen budgets hamper me from giving my students an essential learning opportunity. My students and I appreciate your support of our project.
