Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing and dynamic group of second graders.
I teach a wonderful group of second-grade students at a small Title I (low socioeconomic status) school.
This means that many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Just like any class, my students have a variety of needs.
In second grade, we work with Daily Five and guided reading to meet students' needs. Having fun, interactive, and engaging extension activities will promote critical thinking for my students.
My Project
These games, such as the game IQ Fit, will be used during our Daily Five and 90-minute math block. These games will provide students with a chance to extend their thinking in a critical matter. This will let gifted students, and others who think in spacial awareness ways, build on their learning by using their brain in a different way.
Learning through games provide students with enrichment experiences that will grow students as learners.
This will provide the practice students need to master skills they have learned, leading to success. They will also be given an opportunity to practice problem-solving skills, critical thinking, vocabulary skills, and social skills by playing these games.
