My Students

Do you remember playing for hours with a train set at school or at your house while you were growing up? I would love to give that experience to the kids in my classroom.

I teach at a school where 98% of the students are on free or reduced lunches.

We do not have extra funding for different materials or manipulatives to enrich hands-on learning for the students. I would love for them to have a train set in which they can manipulate the set and enjoy hands-on learning about transportation.

My Project

Students will be able to learn about transportation through hands-on experience with the train set. We currently do not have any items like this in our classroom and I know they would really enjoy having trains. Trains are all the boys in my classroom talk about,and it would be great to give them something they are so passionate about!

This will make a difference in my students' lives because they are not able to have toys like this at home.

This is an experience that they will remember for years to come. Most people have a train set memory from their childhood whether it be from school or home. I want to give my students a train set memory and help them learn about transportation!
