This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a special education teacher working in the South Bronx, I can list the students' needs and deficits. The list is long and easy to write, but I won't. Instead, I will write about what they are.

My students are funny and amazing children.

They're kind-hearted. They're hard-working. They're silly and crazy at times. They're dedicated to their friends and family. They are striving to make their lives and community a better place. They are first graders and they deserve the best we can give them.

My Project

These games will help my students learn how to play and be creative. These toys encourage building and thinking, as well as teamwork and sharing. My goal is for them to be able to learn how to share, be kind, and work together.

These toys are educational and allow them to build the necessary social skills they need for life.

Connect 4 and Jenga are classic games that can help students learn how to lose in a fun way. LEGO and magnetic tiles help spark their creativity. It also promotes teamwork and sharing - something that first graders need a lot of practice with.
