Help me give my students the opportunity to improve their reading comprehension, inferencing skills, and vocabulary through game playing. We are including word building/writing games to play with our first grade buddies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in self-contained, sixth-grade classrooms are a unique mix of youthful enthusiasm and guarded optimism as they are they reach the pinnacle of elementary school and prepare to meet the challenges of middle school. These students are a fun mix of spontaneity and routine. They are unified in their approach to sixth grade.
We ARE sixth grade scholars.
We understand that our education is important to us. We take responsibility for our own actions and study habits. We focus on finding themes and analyzing data. We seek innovation and creativity when solving problems. We are honest, kind, and respectful of other people and their property. We are capable, reliable and trustworthy. We work well with our fellow students and teammates.
We are sixth grade scholars and we are excited and ready to learn!
My Project
Today's environment invites a lot of "screen time" and on-line gaming, but our kiddos LOVE board games. Video gaming involves bright lights and quick eye movement. Board games call for a slightly slower and focused space. This particular set of games will help improve reading comprehension, inference strategies, and vocabulary.
Board games provide 21st century skills like communication and collaboration and soft skills like turn taking and reslience.
This particular set of games allows for differentiation and equity in acccessing language arts. We have included a game set to help our first grade buddies in the writing and word making process. Learning is fun! We are playing to learn!
