My Pre-K students are inquisitive young children who love to learn and explore. They thrive on learning new things. The looks on their faces when they learn something new is priceless.
I am fortunate enough to teach 24 of the most amazing Pre-K students in Maryland.
The charter school I teach at is located in a high poverty area, but that certainly does not stop us from making sure our students have all the tools they need to be successful, well-rounded children.
My Project
When we treat children's play as seriously as it deserves, we are helping them feel the joy that's to be found in the creative spirit. It's the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives. ~Fred Rogers.
This project is important because it will give my students opportunities to learn critical skills while having fun.
The Ramps and Balls Exploration Set will provide lots of opportunities for them to explore, build, and problem-solve, which are all things they love doing. My students also really enjoy writing and the journals will provide them an open ended way to do it. The literacy and math games will provide endless amounts of fun as they learn the essential skills they will need for Kindergarten.
The materials from this project will be used for whole group and small group instruction, as well as in centers. They will be used to introduce and then reinforce skills. I know that my students will love and appreciate these materials, and most importantly, they will have fun learning with them!
