Help me give my students the proper equipment needed to build a safe and fun dramatic play center. The items in the cart will help reconfigure the current dramatic play center we have in our classroom.
I work in a bilingual, head start program in a section of Philadelphia. All my children come from low income families with limited resources to further their education. My students are very special to me. They come to school every day with a smile on their face and ready to give hugs to the teachers in the room. They have a love for learning and enjoy hands-on materials to help them accomplish specific concepts in all content areas. They are growing each day and with this continuous growth, it is my responsibility to challenge them throughout the school year. With our limited budget, this can at times be very difficult. With your help and support, I can help shape our future leaders!
My students deserve a new and improved dramatic play center. The material in this project will help them explore and pretend to be people in their family and the community. A new kitchen set is a priority as my students can pretend to cook, wash dishes, do laundry and create a family style meal. The cleaning set will help my students pretend to put on a new role in the community and express their imagination. The food set will help students express their culture as well as pretend to run a restaurant and cook for others in the classroom. The dramatic play center is one of the most exciting centers in a preschool classroom. It’s where many children feel safe and are able to express interest and explore the world.
