Mrs. Lockavitch from Bridgeport CT is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 2 sentence/language learning games, 1 build-a-sentence stamp center, 1 stamp draw and write center, and 1 giant ink pad.

Let's help kids learn while letting them have fun. I am a speech-language pathologist who currently provides direct services to children in grades K-6 in an inner city public school. The children I work with lack critical receptive and expressive language skills needed to succeed in school and life. I work collaboratively with both special education and regular education teachers in order to enhance the learning of all students regardless of their disabilities. I provide direct language instruction both in small groups as well as in the classrooms. I am always looking for new, hands-on motivating materials and games that will catch the eye of my students and make learning language fun and exciting.
The children I work with have limited receptive and expressive language skills needed to become good readers and writers. They lack critical vocabulary knowledge and have trouble effectively expressing their thoughts and ideas both verbally and on paper. They often struggle and fall behind their peers in the classroom as a result of their language difficulties.
The children I work with need fun, hands- on materials that make learning vocabulary, grammar, receptive and expressive language easier for them. They need repetition and practice in all language areas to grasp new concepts. The games and supplies I am requesting give them the repetition and visual supports they need to increase their skills. The games keep them motivated as they learn hard language concepts as well as increase their academic and social language skills as they work and play together.
Your help will ensure that my students have access to a variety of new hands-on, fun motivating games and materials they can use over and over during their language lessons. They will be learning the important skills they need to succeed in school while having fun.
