Help me give my students the ability to speak and listen with confidence. The Qball will provide a fun, interactive way for all students to participate in classroom discussions.
Our school is an international middle school with over 100 different nationalities. We are an urban school in the pacific northwest. Our school is full of energy, laughter, academics, and promise. We set our standards high and work very hard to achieve all of our goals. The majority of our students come from low income families and many have experienced trauma in their lives. School is a safe place for them to feel supported and cared for. As a special education teacher, I teach students that have many different abilities.

We pride ourselves to teach tolerance, understanding, and love. We celebrate our differences and build strengths as a community. Middle school is a time of great change both mentally and physically. Lots of energy, patience, and fun go into every school day.
My Project
I would like to introduce a Qball microphone into my special education class. Many of my students have difficulty with verbal communication. Many are non-verbal or have very delayed response/processing time. Qball is a microphone built into a simple toy ball. Students will be able to toss the ball to the next speaker and have fun participating in a class discussion. I hope my students become more engaged in our classroom discussion, be able to be heard clearly by their peers, and work on their speaking skills with the support of Qball. My classroom is ready with the appropriate technology to be able to use Qball right out of the box!
