I have the pleasure of teaching curious, problem solving, creative, hands on scholars! I love filling my students with new information and I absolutely love when we make new discoveries together. Just like our beautiful state, Mississippi, my students are a vast collection of cultural diversities, economic statuses, and performance levels!
Each year I make it a personal goal to make my classroom a safe, comfortable, and fun learning environment.
Center and learning stations are their favorite because of the variety of learning styles. My students enjoy working in stations together, solving problems, and most of all being in charge of their learning.
Meaningful learning stations allow students to practice the major skills of the week. In these centers with the games and passages, the students are able to enrich the lesson that has been taught. With this set of board games for each reading standard, the resources will be used each year to enhance learning. Students will work in small groups to successfully complete the educational games. The task cards allow my students to compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction text on the same topic. These meaningful texts will be a great asset to our class. These resources will also to allow my scholars to work independently or in pairs to reinforce previously taught skills. It will build social skills and teamwork as students journey through the learning! These beneficial resources will give my scholars a boost in taking charge of their learning.
