My students need a unique experience to keep their creative minds engaged. Engaging them in the Puppet Producer Workshop will give them an opportunity to use hands-on materials to create a persona for their storytelling.
This year, my 2nd-grade students are curious, creative, and contemplative. Each day, they come to school ready to be challenged. The best thing about my students is their enthusiasm to explore the world around them.
My students love hands-on experiences that allow them to free their minds and be imaginative!
They are constantly thinking of new ways to tell stories with silly characters that lead the way.
Most students come from low-income families that struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis. Despite their battles, they still come to school excited to see what is in store. Finding ways to get my students thinking creatively and critically is something I strive for each day.
This visitor will provide materials for students to complete this project. They will create and adorn their very own professional puppet with a wide assortment of textured and colorful materials such as eyes, feathers, felt, fur, etc. Students will give their puppets a name, a voice, and a personality!
Students will be enthusiastically introduced to the art of puppetry and the ancient art of storytelling!
Once this workshop is complete, students will have a well adorned professional puppet to continue their creative journey!
My hope is to inspire students to explore visual and performing arts in a way they have never experienced it before.
