This year my Kindergarten students will be learning and discovering through self-directed play. I want to give my class the greatest possible school experience!
Kindergarten students need the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically during their early developmental years.
Through self-directed play, and using these materials, my students will discover, socialize, share, think critically,
and learn to be KIND to each other.

My Project
Self-directed play has been proven to improve a child's social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. I am requesting these materials to give my Kindergarten students the opportunity to learn and discover through play
The students will learn to socialize, share, and learn to be KIND to each other, as they use the sand/water table and building blocks, and to be able to explain their discoveries to their classmates as well as seize opportunities to enhance their learning by building on a spontaneous event or student interest.
These materials will also assist me in supporting student learning and encouraging critical thinking, inquiry, and reflection.
