My students need a table tennis classroom pack, a parachute canopy, and a bean bag tossing game. All this PE equipment will help my students enjoy mandatory physical activity in school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in South LA. They live in an area where they see homeless people and police activity on a regular basis. But they also live in a place where they see that people care for them and want what is best for them. Here, at our school.
My students are hard workers and they love to learn!
Almost all of them are second language learners. They come from homes where their primary language is Spanish. I love to hear them say "I know English now."
This group is interested in reading, writing, and the arts. They are constantly asking to take books home, for writers workshop and readers theater. They love to play outdoors too.
My Project
This PE equipment will help make a difference in my students' overall fitness level. If they like the activities and games I provide, they are more likely to participate. If participating makes them active, then they are less likely to develop health problems in the future. The parachute canopy and a bean bag tossing game are materials my students will definitely enjoy.
I would especially like to teach my students the game of table tennis.
South LA is not so big on this sport. I know that some of my students will come to love playing this game and maybe even become experts. I would love to begin an after school club so my students can have more practice time. I would even like for some of them to reach the Olympics!
