For most of my students, when they walk through my door, it is their first schooling experience. It is my goal to create respectful, responsible citizens, creative problem solvers and critical thinkers who are prepared for their future and have a lifelong love of learning. I have a class size of 19 energetic and eager 4 and 5 year olds. We learn best through hands-on, play experiences! Many of my students are stuck in front of screens when they get home and never get to experience traditional, childhood play items like blocks and sand tables.
We are a culturally diverse neighborhood school striving to create innovative programs to better serve the community.
Our school is unique in that we teach core subjects via a project based approach to learning. Our to develop the educational lives of each student by offering an engaging, whole-child, project-based learning curriculum which fosters respectful, responsible citizens; creative problem solvers; and critical thinkers, who leave our school prepared for new challenges and instilled with a lifelong love of learning.
My students love to create spaceships, castles, and school buildings in our block area. Building blocks provide children with the opportunity to exercise a variety of skills that will help them later in life. Blocks encourage problem solving, symbolic thinking, mathematical skills, planning, construction, and social dramatic play opportunities.
Your donation will help to organize and make our block area a more exciting and inviting place to be!
It is currently a storage bin of just a few blocks. We would love to have a nice shelf to store and organize our block collection. The transportation signs and career people will help my students use their imagination to create different buildings.
