This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Play-based learning is relatively common in Transitional Kindergarten settings. It has been linked to developing 21st-century learning skills—collaboration, communication, content, critical thinking, creative innovation, and confidence.

The learning tools in this project are perfect to meet each of these critical areas.

They will work in teams and learn to develop collaboration and communication skills. This type of learning is rich in developing critical thinking and innovation skills. When working with a group, think of language development and social development. Through trial and error, we build confidence and begin to understand that we are capable of more than we could imagine.

This is learning that didactic approaches, such as direct instruction, rote memorization, and worksheets, cannot teach.
