My Students

As a school social worker, I work with students who need assistance with managing emotions, self-regulating and working on social interactions.

When you remember playing as a child, what comes to mind- creativity, fun, friends and fresh air...

I strive to help the children to be successful, happy students who have fun while at school. I have found that play is one of the most successful and interactive ways to engage students and use play daily with my students.

My Project

Play is learning for young children. This sandbox will help children at my elementary school engage in cooperative play in our courtyard. Playing with sand can be soothing and calming to students, similar to playing in the sun while at the beach.

Your donations will help us to work on social skills and play skills with our youngest students.

Students with sensory needs will use this sandbox as a sensory break option throughout the school day. Other students in preschool or elementary grades will use the sandbox in small groups or as a free play option during the school day. Please donate and help bring smiles to our students faces!
