My Project

Play therapy is an art all on its own! I have been building my library of play materials to help my littles maintain attention and pair words with objects. Several of my students are very busy and struggle to listen and work for a reward. They work better in speech and language therapy when they have tactile items to manipulate.

My students learn through different modalities - hearing, touching, looking - and I am trying to provide as many opportunities for them to learn as possible.

Being able to play with new items/vocabulary increases retention of novel words. When I pair the items with laminated pictures and read about it in books, the chances of retention is even higher.

Please help me continue to offer novel and interesting objects to my bag of tricks so I can have multiple 'natural' modalities to teach concepts to my students!
