Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing and come in every morning with a big smile. They have a desire to learn and grow everyday and in Kindergarten learning is always fun!
I work at a diverse Title I school in Maryland.
The majority of my students receive free or reduced lunch based on their families incomes and most of my students are English Language Learners. Several of my students are the first generation in their family attending school in America.
My heart absolutely belongs to Kindergarten and I love being the first teacher that my students have in school. They truly inspire me everyday to be the best I can be for them.
My Project
I have several students that still need a lot of help counting to and recognizing numbers from 1-20 which is a very important skill for their futures. I also have a lot of students that still need help learning their letter sounds for reading and writing.
My project will help my students engage and play to learn those most basic and vital skills for their future learning careers.
I can't wait for them to be able to use the dinosaur counters in the counting tray and to use the number houses and pop and add game to practice combining numbers and adding. I know they will love matching letters to beginning sounds and racing friends and family to match uppercase and lowercase letters. I really need your help making learning these vital skills hands-on and fun!
