Help me give my students a new refrigerator. Ours stopped working and we are struggling to keep our food fresh. We are in great need of new markers and pencils, also pencil boxes for each child individually.

My Students

As before and after school program, we serve kids from Kindergarten to 6th grade from our great Orangevale community. We are a happy place for them, where everyone is accepted and respected as an individual. Our children are very caring and friendly. Our older kids love being big buddies to our younger ones, they help with their homework and read books to them. They enjoy creating things, doing all different science experiments, and making art.

My Project

We picked a great curriculum book for this school year, Incredible Edible Science, with tons of recipes for developing science and literacy skills. We are going to see what kind of science in involved in the cooking process. We are going to learn about smell, taste, measuring, and classifying our food. We are going to create a balanced meal menu for our families.

They have imagination and the artistic talents and instinct. I believe in art as a therapeutic way to help kids overcome struggles and uncertainty. We have a great potential in many of our children, and we are willing to reinforce that.
