Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a modern rural one-school district surrounded by agricultural land filled with lemon trees. Our families work on these farms and live in the surrounding areas. Our school has a long-standing history and just celebrated our 75th anniversary. When the doors first opened there were just three classrooms with 68 students. Now we have over 625 students in grades kindergarten through eight.
MUES is inclusive of ALL students!
Our students are well-rounded scholars in the classroom and athletes on the field. We provide rigorous academics, intensive support, and cultural experiences in the visual and performing arts for ALL. We teach students to create, connect, and collaborate for life!
My Project
This shed will replace an aging storage unit that houses all of the kindergarten recess supplies as well as adaptive physical education materials for our students with disabilities.
Play is a FUNdamental part of our students' day!
Through play, students develop their cognitive and physical abilities, as well as strengthen their social and emotional skills. With a new shed, the bikes, balls, and other equipment will be kept secure, clean, and organized when it is time for teachers and students to access it. Having a new storage shed will increase access to and inclusion of play for all of our youngest learners.
