Help me give my students more manipulatives, such as sensory toys, toys that promote STEM skills, as well as social learning in education.
My classroom dynamics this year would hugely benefit from STEM. social , and sensory materials.
Many of my students are entering school, my classroom, for the very first time. My students range in age from 3 to 5 years old. Each and every child comes in eager to learn and explore! I hope to create an environment that promotes the importance of play and a love for learning and school!
Play is so important in preschool!
My school is located in a title one district. My students are highly diverse and come from all different economic backgrounds, with many being English Language Learners. I teach in an integrated prekindergarten program. Therefore, half of my students are receiving services on an Individual Education Plan (IEP), while others are community kids.
My Project
Every year they dynamics of my classroom change. This particular year, I have a large number of students that would benefit from learning how to participate in cooperative play. This can be done through cooperative board games as well as with sharing manipulatives during play.
During the preschool years we need to lay the foundation of the importance of cooperative play as well as socialization skills.
Cooperative board games, manipulatives to promote interactive play, materials to encourage social scripts are needed for my students.
Having materials to further develop these skills are monumental to my classroom. Sensory toys will also help my young learners to focus on the tasks at hand.
