My students need a welcoming and organized environment where they can see daily routines, calendars, and keep their materials close by them and organized.
After teaching 5 years as a special education teacher (emotional support) in the city school in Johnstown, PA, I have made the conscious decision to change paths and teach kindergarten. I teach students from low income homes, some being from poverty. I wholeheartedly believe that kindergarten is the building block and foundation of each child's educational career.
I look forward to creating a safe and welcoming environment where my students will thrive academically.

My Project
Pocket charts, chair pockets, and a pencil sharpener will provide my students the essential materials needed to have academic success. In my classroom, my students share tables. They do not have individual desks. The chair pockets will allow my students to keep all the necessary daily materials needed right on the back of their chair. The pocket chart will provide my students with visualizations of daily routine and concepts. It will provide site words, months, days, years, patterns, numbers, etc.
With the necessary materials, learning will happen.
These materials will be used daily and over the years for all of my future students.
