My Students
I am a kindergarten teacher. All of my students speak languages other than English at home. They love to sing and dance while learning and working together! This is the first time some of my students have been in a school setting.
I have an extraordinary group of students whom I love dearly.
They love creating, drawing, and reading. Helping each other is something I see daily especially if there is a new friend in our class. They love being in control of their learning, especially at centers!
My Project
Adding play-doh and stamps to our lessons and centers allows them to be more hands on. I saw that some students benefited from using play-doh when it came to math concepts such as addition, comparing, subtraction, and more. In Phonics and reading, they would use the play-doh and the letter stamps to make words and letters previously taught.
Having Play-doh will allow my students to be creative and make anything they want to make.
Every year, I try to give my students their own play-doh to build and create with throughout the year. Some students would to make different animals they saw at the Zoo. Others would try to make their name. In addition, this would give my students the opportunity to open up and socialize with their classmates. Kids love Play-Doh!
