I have 22 amazing and busy first-grade kiddos this year. My kids love to learn and are hard workers. While we have everything we need, these supplies would help our classroom become a more comfortable and fun place to learn for my active class.
I teach in a Title I school, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and supper.
Despite the economic hardships of our community, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They come ready to learn each day with a great attitude. They support each other and look out for each other.
By offering new and different ways to learn, students will be more successful and be able to learn more.
My Project
We need these PE resources to get our school excited about being active. These dodge balls will get all of our students excited to play and get them up and moving. These balls will be available for all of our students to use in our PE rotations, classroom PE, and for our after school program.
Helping kids have fun being active will promote good fitness for life.
As a kid, I did not enjoy PE. I didn't enjoy running laps or doing sit-ups. One of the things I try to do as a PE teacher is make PE fun for everyone. I play with the kids and try to get them excited and active WITH me in fun and lively games.
One of my students' favorite activities is dodge ball. Our balls get a lot of use with over 400 students in our school. These new balls would allow us to get rid of the ones that have torn or lost their cover with all that playing time.
