Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I low income school where 97% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. I am very proud to teach at a school where the teachers and administrators give 100% to our students every day. We set high expectations and our students strive to achieve them.
Even though many of my students have experienced trauma in their young lives they show me every day what learning looks like.
I am very blessed to be their teacher and they make me smile every day.
My Project
My students will engage in Reading and Math games that will enhance what they have already learned. It will give them opportunities to practice phonic skills such as making words and blending. They will also be able to practice different math skills such as addition and subtraction, money, and time.
These games will also help with the development of my students social skills.
Playing these different games will promote problem solving, peer negotiation, and conflict management. By donating to our project you will be providing learning and social development for my students and a place to play.
The comfy carpet will be a cozy place where my students can play instead of sitting on the hard floor or at their small desks.
