Our school community contains a diverse array of students whose backgrounds and needs are as unique as the families and cultures that proudly support them. We are a school community that is extremely rich in pride, strong in support, and filled with a passion to succeed.
As our school community continues to grow, our classroom continues to be a place where a high degree of emphasis is placed on engaging, innovative, meaningful, and relevant learning.
Each year, I am so proud of the maturity that my students develop when it comes to their learning and personal growth as young adults. It is truly a passion of mine to offer the supplies, resources, and technology that will allow my students to gain the knowledge, as well as practice the skills, needed for success in their future college and career journeys.

My Project
As we transition into a hybrid model (simultaneous online + physical classroom) of teaching and learning for the 2020-2021 school year due to COVID-19, instructional decisions and access to learning are paramount considerations. How will I reach my students joining our classroom via Zoom while also delivering lessons to my students who are physically present at the same time? One of the solutions is Nearpod!
Nearpod is a versatile online learning platform that will allow me to conduct engaging and meaningful synchronous and asynchronous lessons, both for my students in the classroom and ones joining via Zoom!
I am requesting a Nearpod Platinum subscription because it will unlock over 7,500 pre-made lessons, "Student-Paced" mode for differentiated learning, gamified knowledge checks, allow students to go on virtual reality field trips, and many more features that enhance learning by cultivating a high level of engagement! The addition of the Flocabulary Lite platform (musically-based lessons) offers me another method of offering engaging and unique lessons to my students as we learn throughout the year within our English Language Arts class! My students will be able to view lessons put to music and, even more exciting, create their own with Flocabulary's music lab!
