My students need 2 verniers, a super pulley attachment, and a Vernier Dynamics System to measure real world effects and make predictions using equations.

My Students

AP physics requires low friction systems to do accurate measurements so we can verify equations. It is difficult to get a good system for students to use so they can make these measurements. Please help us get this equipment.

The students are kids planning to attend college taking an AP Physics course.

They are strongly motivated and eager to learn. There is an equal mix of boys and girls. We started the AP class two years ago because of student requests. I have been getting by with equipment the school already owns but I would like to include more labs which require more equipment. The down economy makes extra lab equipment difficult to purchase.

My Project

These tracks allow for a multitude of experiments, from collision to acceleration. The Vernier system is able to be built upon for future labs. This equipment allows for accurate measurements to be taken that limits outside factors so students can learn the basic physics concepts and then build to the complex concepts.

I love physics for one reason: hands-on learning.

It is difficult to explore the physical world through a book of equations. Application is essential to helping students realize the value of questioning, testing, and explaining actions that go on around them on a daily basis.
