Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school students are a unique bunch. With a well diverse community each student brings something special to the table. The students have quite the potential, but don't have the ability to expand their creative skills due to the limited resources that are provided. My duty is to allow these kids to be able to express themselves through their art and provide many opportunities to work with different materials. Having a creative outlet also keeps them out of trouble.
My Project
Plaster is one of those materials that are a little costly which we can not fully fund. I would like to assist students in creating projects that they normally do not see in the art studio.
The students love fun and messy projects, and this is right up their alley.
This not only targets creativity, but this helps enhance motor skills while they utilize their hand building processes.
Materials on the requested list will be Plaster strips, gloves, a first aid kit to ensure safety and canvases to attach their strips to. The goal is to create 3D Relief Sculptures.
