Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We're a Title I school in Houston with high rates of mobility & poverty. I have had the luxury of growing together with my students for 4 years now in some cases. That lets me know them well and allows us to push the boundaries of learning. I hold my students up to the same high expectations that are pushed for district-wide and they have held up their end of it. They have been awesome!
But all good things must come to an end, my journey with them will be over this school year!
So, this project is custom made for items that will award all their achievements as superb students and people. I won't have them as students anymore, but they will still be in my heart after they are no longer in my class. This project is my attempt to give them an award one last time and make it special.
My Project
After 4 years of seeing first hand the hard fought battles that my students have every second of every day with their disabilities, I humbled and honored to have been their teacher. Now, our journey together ends because they go to a different school next year and I want to give them the best send off possible.
Special Education students don't often get the recognition they deserve for fighting all the obstacles that they have everyday, but this project aims at making sure that my Legendary Students will have all the awards they deserve.
I know the transition to a new school will be tough, but I hope that this helps them start the next school year off right and that they have a super award on their mantel that will remind them of just how awesome they are and how awesome they will continue to be.
This project will give them gold foil award certificates with gold foil seals and plaque displays that they have earned with all their hard work. The markers are to mark which items belong to which student.
