My students are constantly expanding and discovering their interests when it comes to learning.
As second graders, they are beginning to discover who they are, what they love, and what they might not like.
Each of my students loves learning, though they all learn in different ways. We incorporate a variety of learning styles, seating options, and kinesthetics to meet everyone's needs.
My Project
A classroom library is one of the most important parts of a classroom. I believe this is especially true for primary grades as the students are constantly developing interests and still learning to read, but also reading to learn! The library should be fun, bright, and full of possibilities. Unfortunately, as a new 2nd grade teacher, my class library is still quite small.
Reading is a gift of imagination, wisdom, and escape.
Books take the reader out of the real world and into a world of imagination, mystery, and knowledge. My students are constantly growing, and what better way to help them discover new interests than through BOOKS!
My students will be able to use these books as part of our daily routine. They will begin each morning by choosing a book to take them to a new world.
With a library expansion, my students will be able to travel to new worlds that they never could have imagined!
