My Students

In my class, my students love to learn about science topics. We live in a small mining town in Globe, Arizona. Over 75% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. Our student have limited resources to technology, books and learning experiences outside the school setting.

My students are eager learners, awesome problem solvers and work well in cooperative groups.

These children are very excited about learning projects and are enthusiastic to share their knowledge with others in the community.

My Project

My project includes class sets of non-fiction books about photosynthesis to give students a better understanding of this process. One of the books is titled Photosynthesis by Torrey Maloaf. The students will read this book, label a plant diagram and take notes on terminology and complete other projects related to scientific standards.

Students at this age are highly interested in science and non-fiction reading.

Is is my goal as a classroom teacher to provide many different opportunities to continue to grow this love of learning. This excitement will hopefully continue as these students progress through higher levels of education as life long learners.
