This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want to teach my students the values of responsibility, work ethic and nutrition through a classroom garden. Students will be learning about life science and the plant cycle. The students will be responsible for preparing the soil, planting and watering.

My elementary school students are in a special day class and have moderate to severe disabilities.

The students are smart, friendly, and eager to learn. The students are interested in learning how to grow their own vegetables, herbs and flowers. They enjoy hands on learning. The students currently attend a low-income school.

My Project

Through this project the students will learn valuables skills that can be generalized across settings. The students will learn the importance of sharing responsibilities and teamwork. In addition, this project will improve my student's quality of life.

Children learn best through hands on projects.

Most importantly, the students will learn about healthy eating habits, team work and will learn valuable life skills that will prepare them for life after high school.
