My students need of new books like "Magic Tree House" and various beginning of the year supplies including, pencils, notebooks, crayons, and other basic supplies used day to day.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The majority of my students, coming to school each day, are not only hungry for the free breakfast and lunches offered to 100% of the children attending our school each day, but also for the skills and knowledge waiting to be discovered within their young and growing minds....

Our class consists of approximately 20 students between the ages of 8-9 years. Our class comes together with a very diverse group of learners ready to succeed. We are considered both an inclusion, meaning we integrate general education students with those identified having special needs, as well as a gifted cluster class. The vast majority of the students at our school come from families that fall below the poverty line and most are considered to be be at the bottom of the socioeconomic scale, making that just one more obstacle for our children to overcome. Things that many of us take for granted such as basic school supplies including pencils and paper are hard to acquire for many of the students and their families. We make it our goal to ensure school is always a safe/comforting place for a students to come, regardless of where they come from.
My Project
My students will use these materials in their daily learning experiences. Our class will work together to unwrap the grade 3 VA curriculum aligned in all content areas including, mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts, as well as necessary life skills to help them continue to succeed. The items included in this project are essential learning materials and supplies that are used in most elementary classrooms on a daily basis. This includes independent reading literature that is between a 2nd grade and 5th grade level, depending on the student. A majority of the resources included in this project are average everyday supplies including pencils, erasers, paper, notebooks, glue, crayons, folders and various office supplies. We also need new Magic Tree House books as well.
Your assistance will make students focus remain fully on learning and reaching their highest potential, in order to be a successful scholar and citizen.
Providing students with these materials will help to provide students with the knowledge/skills students are expected to learn in the 3rd grade, as well as inspire and motivate scholars to extend their learning beyond just the required objectives, but set them up to reach past the required standards and truly find a genuine joy for learning.
