My Students
My school is over 100 years old! We are transitioning from being a primary school to being an elementary school with a brand new building. This is such an exciting time for our community and well deserved.
The neighborhood that houses my school is a project housing neighborhood, surrounded by a loving community with a rich history.
The entire school population receives free lunch due to the high poverty nature of our demographics. Our school strives to be a fun, friendly, and nurturing environment for the children we serve.
My Project
PreK is a fun year to learn about all kinds of valuable themes to kickstart students' learning. This unit in our curriculum talks all about healthy living with gardening - both fruit and vegetable gardens to be exact! Students will learn about the differences, learn about life cycles, and explore in a hands-on way about these topics. First, we need some great materials to go along with it!
The vegetable and fruit puzzles will be great for students to begin sorting the two types of grown products in a garden.
The hands on science exploration materials will go well in our exploration station as students learn about seeds. The counting worms will create a cross curricular connection as students can use them for counting, or measuring. So many fun materials to explore and learn with!
