In second grade, we learn about money with a real world emphasis. During our money unit, students will earn and save money to use in our holiday plant sale. My 2nd graders will use the the seeds, soil and decorative planters to grow, care for and sell holiday plants to students at our holiday shop. Students will have jobs attached with an imaginary salary to be taken out of our operating budget. This is a great way for my students to understand the value of money which is an important part of navigating through life.
They will learn about earning & counting money and the importance of budgeting expenses to save for items they want in our classroom store.
