Planning Life in 5th Grade!

My Students

I teach 5th grade in a Title I School. Many of my students see school as their safe place, somewhere they can go to build positive relationships, and a home away from home.

The jump from 4th to 5th grade is very large and I feel my students would benefit immensely from planners to help them learn some organizational skills.

These skills will also benefit them when they make the switch to middle school next school year. In 5th grade, much more is expected from students. My students need a positive and beneficial way to organize their day to day lives, homework, and important upcoming dates. Having planners would GREATLY help my students learn to stay organized and on top of their assignments.

My Project

Learning how to stay organized and on top of things is an essential life skill. Anyone who knows me knows I love a good planner! I recently made the move to 5th grade and realized just how much my kiddos had to keep track of, assignments, test dates, homework, and other important events in their lives. I want to teach my students how to stay organized and how to keep track of these important dates!

These planners will help me introduce essential organizational skills to my students that they can carry with them into middle school next year and beyond into their professional lives.
