Help me give my students a tool they can use to manage their time effectively.

I am fortunate enough to teach in a school where students demonstrate both tenacity and joy as they navigate through some of life's toughest obstacles. Many of my students come from households with minimal structure yet they are expected uphold an immense amount of responsibility (in school and outside of school.) As a teacher, I also get the privilege to lead an all girl advisory period where I work one-on-one with girls to help guide them through their high school experience and beyond.
As the demands of life increase the best gift I can give my advisees is the gift of time management.
A lot of the girls in my advisory have expressed how stressed out they are because "there is too much to do" and/or "they don't have enough time to get it done." I have a student who contemplated dropping out of school because she did not have the organizational skills to be successful.
This simply cannot happen (especially when we have some of the brightest and most resilient students in our building.) These planners will be used as a tool that they can use to manage their time so that they are less stressed and overwhelmed throughout the year. As an advisory, we will meet everyday for 30 minutes. I plan to use our time together on Monday's to discuss their upcoming assignments, projects, and test , events, and personal commitments. We will then write everything down in the planners and create a list of things to do to accomplish each task with ease. This will help promote a sense of unity and accountability within the group. My goal is that planning will become second nature to them and help them be successful in their future endeavors. I truly believe that these planners will change lives and push my advisees beyond mediocre to excellent in whatever path they choose.
