Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my class are very special to me for many reasons. These students have been working so hard to achieve high goals despite the obstacles in their personal lives. All of my fourth graders have been in a Dual Immersion school since Kindergarten, they can all read, write, and speak in English and Spanish.
Having the ability to speak in two languages has opened up many opportunities in learning so much more than they could imagine!
So why not add more words and stories to their learning experience. I want my students to know that no matter how difficult things might be at home, they can always pick up a book and let their minds go!
My Project
My students will benefit so much from having the ability to sit in stools versus chairs. Many of them have the need to move around in their chair, without realizing it, the chairs can become a problem for them because they feel they can't move easily without falling off the chair! Students who have to move around in their space, need a stool to move with ease without interrupting everyone else. Having that freedom of space can make a big difference in how a student will perform the rest of the day. With the stools, students can have the ability to place the focus on their work and not the chair!
