My Students
My students are from a low socioeconomic background, with nearly 80% qualifying for Free or Reduced Lunch. They do not get exposure to engineering, 3D printing or other STEM resources.
My students are learning to design in Tinkercad and require resources to help them create more creative projects using our 3D printer. They are excited for the challenge of 3D designing and printing. I am excited to share technology with my students to enhance their learning and create interest in STEM careers.
My Project
Currently, I am limited to 3 colors with my 3D printer: Apple Green, Red, and White. These colors are not very inspiring for my students to create 3D objects to print.
With this project I am hoping to get a variety of colors that will inspire my students to create more interesting designs and solve problems in a creative way.
Although I received my 3D printer through professional development, it did not include much filament. I am purchasing filament for my printer personally and am not able to fund the colors my students would like to use. A variety of colors would be truly inspiring!
