My Students

My students are hardworking students from a variety of backgrounds. They are from diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds.

This class is an AP Computer Science Principals class and we are looking for more examples of programming in the real world.

The students are learning the basics of computer science and programming and are a very hands-on group of students.

One of the basic skills that students learn is "turtle programming," a way to see how commands that are coded move a figure in a program. This robot will help bring to life those same skills in a 3D environment.

My Project

Using the LEGO MINDSTORMS robot, my students will be able to see the programming principals they are learning in action. We will be able to create group projects to help students learn new coding skills.

Having a robot to program and code, the students will get a hands-on experience in how programming can be applied in the real world.

Many new jobs require coding skills and this project will help students to see those skills come to life in the real world.

Many of today and tomorrow's jobs are moving towards automation. By starting to learn about robotics and the programming behind them, students will learn the skills to be successful candidates for these jobs.
