Our students are bright and capable young men and women, eager to learn and socialize. We try to provide many opportunities for them to come together and work as teams, inside and outside of the classroom, to improve their skills and best prepare them for a future of human interaction.
Our high school is located in North Carolina and is largely populated by the children of our military stationed here and overseas.
We are a high needs school, serving a low-income population. With the North Carolina school budget being cut in every department, we no longer have enough funding for extra materials and look to you, dear donors, to aid in the education of all these bright young men and women.
My Project
Hundreds of students come into the library every day for a variety of reasons. Some come for books, others for computer time, and others just to hang out and explore. We like to keep a wide variety of exploratory items on hand for our students to enjoy. We already have lots of games and puzzles, but we'd like to add some sensory objects.
These 3D Pin Art Sculptures come in a wide variety of colors, which will be visually pleasing to the eye when students create their unique displays.
Pin art uses hundreds of moveable metal pins to create 3D images. The pins are fitted into a sturdy plastic frame that is both lightweight and durable. These interactive scultpures are not a new design, but like the Rubix cube, have remained popular for several decades now. Students love the way the pins feel on their skin and enjoy creating an imprint of themselves to stays behind after they leave the library.
