Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Pinnacle recently started a violin program. We are so excited to give this opportunity to our scholars but it requires a lot more than a violin for each scholar. There are a lot of additional accessories needed to make it a successful program.
Our scholars are in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.
The scholars participating in the violin program are second grade scholars. Our scholars and their families are so excited to begin violin classes this week! Scholars will get one whole-group class per week and private or small-group lessons each month.
My Project
Starting this violin program has been a dream of the teacher since she was a little girl. Ms. Leinenkugel, who is leading the class, started playing violin when she was 7 and wants to pass on the joy of music to the scholars of our school. While we were able to get violins through Donorschoose to start the program, we are still missing a few key items to really get the program going successfully. These accessories will ensure that every scholar participating in the program is equipped and ready to play!
This project is so important to our scholars because it is one of few after school programs and an extracurricular program for our scholars.
