Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Tell me, I'll forget. Show me, I'll remember. Involve me, I'll understand. Showing the kids the real thing will help them remember and be involved in the lessons being taught or demonstrated.
I am a special education teacher and co-teacher in a fifth grade elementary school classroom with eight scholars with various needs and disabilities.
These kids need to be shown things and then allowed to try things on their own. This equipment will make things concrete and less abstract.
My Project
My students need a document camera so they can see actual sized objects, texts and pictures with their original colors. I will be able to show mathematics manipulative's such as actual dice, 3D objects, spinners, examples of steps in math, art details with color, oral reading without numerous copies, and all the Common Core standards on the screen rather than on paper. This is so important for visual learners.
My project is important because every kid deserves to learn and all kids learn differently.
My population does not acquire the knowledge they need just through textbooks and this will allow them to acquire knowledge in their learning style
