Help me give my students the ability to create stop motion movies, learn about photography, camera angles, basic shot styles, digital animation with Wacom, Kidizoom cameras, LEGO people, and more!
Our elementary school students are eager to visit the Communication Lab and to participate in technology enhanced activities. They are pulled in small groups, giving each student an opportunity to get his/her hands on the tools and create. They produce a variety of products that allow them to learn a new skill while creating to encourage them to communicate efficiently in a multitude of ways. The products showcase academic concepts at the same time. These students utilize the 4C's, coupled with technology, to embrace their learning and thrive.
Our students are more than merely sponges that soak in new knowledge.
They own their learning and create content to show that ownership, inform others, entertain, educate, and inspire. I'm motivated by their excitement daily. These students appreciate the opportunity to visit a location where this expectation is in place along with the tools and support to kick off grand learning experiences. We are a team of innovators!
My Project
These materials would help the students learn how to take quality photographs, upload images to a computer to edit and build a portfolio, create books and stop motion movies, create high quality digital art for comics and graphic novels, and explore entrepreneurship opportunities with these experiences.
The Wacom - Cintiq 16 Creative Pen Display Drawing Tablet will be a very advanced way to introduce the students to digital animation.
The VTech - Kidizoom Camera Pix 2.0-Megapixel Digital Camera - Pink and Blue (10 total cameras for maximum student use!) will allow the students to take digital photographs as we learn about photography and entrepreneurship. Those photographs can be used to create items to "sell" locally. The People • LEGO EDUCATION will allow each student to have a subject to photograph as we practice basic shot types. The and LEGO - DUPLO Bakery 10928 will allow the Kindergarten students, who host a bake sale for entrepreneurship, to build and creatively write about their Lego bake shop.
Kindergarten through fifth grade students will learn about using photography to communicate. They will create advertisements, tell stories, make books, short films, and more with these tools. We will explore how illustrations and photographs help express your ideas in a more powerful way. These tools will help young students learn to communicate, advertise for business ideas, and develop talents and passions that could lead to entrepreneurship paths.
