This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in an inner-city school. The children are starting their first real learning experiences.

Vocabulary is a very important skill for children to comprehend, especially kindergarten students.

It is extremely crucial for young children to gain and utilize a good oral and reading vocabulary. It will benefit them with learning how to read, writwe, and communicate well with others.

My kindergarten class is very eager to learn and are sponges ready to absorb knowledge and show the world that they are awesome!

My Project

I am a kindergarten teacher in a low income area. Many of the children come from second language homes. Some of the children are learning formal English for the first time. Many of these children do not have picture dictionaries because their parents simply can not afford them.

In kindergarten, the children will be learning how to read, write, and speak which will be their foundation for their future learning.

Having picture dictionaries for the children will allow them to learn new vocabulary words and see a picture of the new word. Having these books will help imprint the words better with the children and they are more likely to remember and use the word frequently.
