My students are special because they work hard and are always wanting to learn more. The most rewarding thing a teacher can receive is not a gift, but rather, seeing that "light bulb moment" where a student understands a topic or realizes something for the first time.
The students I have taught over the years come from different backgrounds, but what remains the same is their love for learning.
My students come to school to learn from me, and yet they teach me just as valuable life lessons every day. I'm so proud to be their teacher and that I get the opportunity to help shape the world.
A classroom library with different genres, allows all students to feel included. These books will allow many of my students without access to many biography books, the ability to read a book right in my classroom. At the end of the year, my students have a biography project to complete. The books I selected are not only engaging but perfectly leveled for my kids.
The picture books will come to life, allowing my students to understand different reading skills.
Teaching has allowed to me realize that there's not one way to learn. Some students are visual learners while some learn better hearing me read texts aloud. All of these books have been chosen with my student's interests in mind. Sometimes the best way to understand a skill is to visualize it. These books will provide my students that opportunity.
