My Students
Our fourth grade classroom is filled with twenty five wonderful individuals. We come from varying backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. Like our backgrounds, we all have varying needs and interests. But, one thing we all have in common is our love for learning. Unfortunately, we do not all have access to everything we need to learn about our interests.
With the funding of this project, we will have more opportunities to learn about our hobbies and interests, which will facilitate more engagement and classroom bonding.
As a teacher, I would like to provide more chances for my students to interact with technology, hands-on manipulatives, and student-driven projects.
My Project
Even though I teach fourth grade, picture books are still a major necessity and student-favorite within our classroom. Not only do they seem less intimidating to someone who currently lacks a love for reading, but they also can teach rich lessons to the reader.
Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase picture books for our classroom library.
The picture books I have selected are varying in topics and reading level. With these picture books, my students will not only deepen their love for reading, but have more access to quality picture books. My students in the future will also benefit from this project, as books handled with care can be used for years to come.
